Assassination Classroom

Assassination Classroom
 by Yusei Matsui
 Vol. 19 190 pages
 Vol. 20 181 pages

Class E has finished their entrance exams for high school and can finally focus completely on killing Koro-Sensei, but can they defeat him before graduation day?

While I have enjoyed this series very much I am a bit disappointed with the journey to the end in these last volumes. Some things could have been done a little differently or omitted entirely without taking away from the plot. That being said I look forward to how volume 21 wraps up any loose ends.

Assassination Classroom, v. 20 by Yusei Matsui

Assassination Classroom, v. 20 by Yusei Matsui - 192 pages

It's the final battle to assassinate their teacher Koro Sensei.  Will they succeed in protecting him?  Or will they succeed in assassinating him?

This is the second to last volume in the series.  It is a great lead-up to the finale.  In fact, it's hard to wait a month until the final book comes out.

Assassination Classroom, v. 19 by Yusei Matsui

Assassination Classroom, v.19 by Yusei Matsui - 200 pages

The students are caught unawares when the world leaders enact their final plan to kill Koro Sensei -- trapping him on the mountain until they strike the final blow.  They refuse to allow the world to kill their teacher, but will they be able to attack their way through the barrier?

This volume starts the final story of Assassination Classroom.  We are merely days from graduation and the destruction of the world.  It was a great start to the final battle.  I'm looking forward to the next book . . . which luckily I have.

Then it's time for entrance exams for high school and for Valentine's Day.

This was a great entry in the series.  I enjoyed the relationships between the characters and how they are growing and changing.

Another great volume in the series.  I loved the peeks into the backgrounds of Ms. Vitch and Nagisa.

Class 3-E is still trying to assassinate their teacher Koro Sensei and they have a new weapon in their arsenal -- indestructible uniforms.  But will they help when one of their teachers is kidnapped by the Grim Reaper assassin?

A great addition to the story with character development.  I can't wait to read the next installment to see what happens.

Assassination Classroom, v. 11 by Yusei Matsui

Assassination Classroom, v. 11 by Yusei Matsui - 208 pages

Once again it is time for exams and Class A has come up with a new scheme to keep Class E at the bottom of the scores.  They challenge Class E to a pole pull down.  If Class E wins they won't get Isogai suspended from school for having a part-time job.  Once that's over, it's time to study -- but the students accidentally injure a day care worker and Koro Sensei's punishment is for them to work full-time at the day care for two weeks.  Will they ever get to study for the exams?

Another great entry in the manga series.  Now I have to wait until October for the next installment.

Assassination Classroom, v.10 by Yusei Matsui

Assassination Classroom, v.10 by Yusei Matsui - 192 pages

The students are back in session for their second semester.  First there's an overabundance of eggs which leads to an assassination plan featuring flan.  Then it's time to kick their training into gear by learning parkour moves.  Just as that training is going well, Koro Sensei is accused of being a lingerie thief.

This volume was very episodic with three short stories.  The last one included a lot of character development for Itona and more evil plans by Shiro.

Assassination Classroom, v. 5 by Yusei Matsui

Assassination Classroom, v. 5 by Yusei Matsui

In this volume, we conclude the baseball game with the varsity team and meet a new P.E. teacher.
I am continuing to love this series.  It is consistently funny while actually inserting some philosophical questions for deep thinking.

And I continue to love the Moment of Zen at the end of each book --
"He stole something quite precious to you.  Your tentacles."

This book is hard for me to describe but I feel it has a very good message. No matter what life throws at you grab the good things and hold on tight to them. Even when you feel beat down and ready to give up, don't and remember to smile with your arms wide open.
