It Was Me All Along by Andie Mitchell

It Was Me All Along by Andie Mitchell, 291 pages

It Was Me All Along was by far one of the best memoirs I have ever read. Andie Mitchell is a food blogger, who did not always have a healthy relationship with food.  In this painfully honest book, Andie chronicles her battle with food addiction from her very sad childhood to adulthood.  As a child, Andie finds comfort in food. She battles obesity through countless diets.  Weight Watchers, studying abroad, and becoming a production assistant in the film industry all help her lose 138 pounds.  Through all her weight woes, her college boyfriend, Daniel, is there.  Andie's story made me cry.  In the end, she ends her romantic relationship with Daniel and her emotional relationship with food.   Andie has a wonderful attitude and realizes the journey is one of self acceptance.

Super Shred: The Big Results Diet: 4 Weeks, 20 Pounds Lose It Faster by Ian K. Smith, M.D.

Super Shred Diet: The Big Results Diet: 4 Weeks, 20 Pounds Lose It Faster by Ian K. Smith M.D., 236 pages

I checked this book out from the library and read it in one night.  I decided if I wanted to fully commit to this diet, I would definitely need to purchase this book. This diet seemed very detailed and seemed that it would need to be followed to the tee to be successful.  This diet is based on a four week cycle, eating small meals and snacks spread throughout the day.  Exercise, more exercise, and accelerated exercise are required to speed up the weight loss.  Recipes are included in the book for smoothies, soups, and other healthy foods.  This diet is never suppose to leave you hungry.  It promises fast results and is easy to follow  Timing is everything.  Each week is different.   The key to this diet is eating frequent small meals and small, healthy snacks.

Diabetes Weight Loss Week by Week by Jill Weisenberger, MS, RD, CDE

Diabetes Weight Loss Week by Week by Jill Weisenberger, MS, RD, CDE
230 pages

I checked this book out at one of our branches and liked it so much, I bought a copy.  This book is put out by The American Diabetes Association. It is full of wonderful tips for safe and effective ways of losing weight and improving your overall health.  It starts you out week by week, making small changes in your life.  I like this book because if you not only have diabetes, you can apply the techniques to just lose weight and have a healthier lifestyle.  One of main reasons I bought this book is that this can be information used for life.  There are also many helpful charts and tables for tracking daily eating habits, activity, weight loss, as well as tracking your blood sugars.  The book also contains recipes and meal plans.
