2nd in the K-Team series.  This is a spin off from the Andy Carpenter series with much beloved characters Laurie and Marcus and two new characters Corey and Simon Garfunkel, a phenomenal retired police dog.  They take on cases which often tie in with the Carpenter series.  The series is getting better as it goes along because the characters are becoming filled in and more well rounded.  I am enjoying this series.

7th in the Kopp Sisters series.  We finally see the youngest of the sisters (or is she?) trying to escape from under her sisters scrutiny.  Fleurette is taking on an investigation of her own.  And throughout this book we see what a good heart she has, and that beyond all else family sticks together.

5th in the Kopp Sisters series.  The first World War is beginning in Europe, and the Kopp sisters want to do their part.  Again, they find themselves pushing the limits of what women are "allowed" to do.

First in the Kopp Sisters series.  Three sisters (or are they?)Hackensack, New Jersey.  Turn of the 20th century.  The series follows them through the first world war and all of the different paths that the three of them have chosen.  And how they buck the preconceived roles that women are supposed to aspire to. I enjoy the series very much and am looking forward to the 8th installment.

Of Triton by Anna Banks; 246 pages

Of Triton is the second book to the Syrena series. A Syrena is another word for mermaid, but they do not like that word at all. Syrena is their species name. These books do go back and forth between points of views of the main characters. With it like this is helps on how they feel towards each other and if they are separated for a time ( which is most of the time since Galen- the main male lead- is in the water with his "country") to help what goes on, but don't worry the plot comes together in the end like it always does. Emma is a Half-breed, which means she can stay underwater for long periods of time without needing a breath of air.

Now in this book Emma finds out that her mother is a full-blooded Syrena and a princess at that. And since the Princess has been found, the kingdoms have to make sure that she is the princess and not someone posing as her. And so her is were Emma has to make a big life decision on weather to been known to the Syrena world.

Notorious Nineteen by Janet Evanovich

Notorious Nineteen by Janet Evanovich, 311 pages

In the most recent Stephanie Plum book, Stephanie has the usual problems.
Her car explodes, and she continues to be torn between Ranger and  Joe Morelli, all while chasing felons to earn her way.  People continue to be able to break in to her apartment without her knowing.  Eventually, you think she will get a stronger lock for her door; drive the same car for more than a month; and eventually chose between Ranger and Joe.  My money is on Joe. Notorious Nineteen doesn't disappoint with humor.  My question is "Will their be a number twenty?"

Explosive Eighteen: A Stephanie Plum Novel by Janet Evanovich --- 305 pages

I've always enjoyed Evanovich's Stephanie Plum novels for the sheer outrageous fun of watching Stephanie stumble from one disastrous situation to the next. Her haphazard attempts to earn a living as a bounty hunter for her sleazy cousin Vinnie's bail bond agency, her hilariously complicated love life, and her dysfunctional but always there for her family, usually have me laughing hard enough to cry.

That said, I was disappointed in her last effort, Smokin' Seventeen, and wondered if perhaps the series was finally running out of steam. Happily, Evanovich is back on her game in Explosive Eighteen.

Stephanie runs for home when her dream Hawaiian vacation turns into a nightmare. Everyone in town is speculating about what went wrong, but Stephanie isn't talking, and neither are Morelli or Ranger (though both are sporting some intriguing bruises). A chance encounter on the plane leaves Stephanie briefly in possession of a mysterious photograph, and suddenly not only the FBI, but assorted gangsters are all on Stephanie's case.

Meanwhile her archnemesis since gradeschool, Joyce Barnhardt, suspect in a murder investigation, is squatting in Stephanie's apartment and refusing to leave until Stephanie retrieves crucial evidence from the murder victim's house. And Stephanie's friend Lula, as usual, has fallen for yet another unsuitable guy. This time it's a bail jumper named Buggy, who keeps stealing Stephanie's car. With the first of Janet Evanovich's books coming out as a movie, I thought it may be a good time to start reading this popular mystery series everyone has been talking about.  Reading them in order, with fifteen more to go may be a daunting task.  In the third book of the series, we get to know lingerie saleswoman turned bounty hunter, Stephanie Plum, much better.  Stephanie is set to find her Uncle Mo who is wanted on a concealed weapons charge.  As Stephanie gets herself in tight situations, along the way we get to know her family and her cohorts.  These books are definitely entertaining reads, wishing we all could be as fearless as Stephanie Plum.
