Wonderfully melodramatic in a way only 70's/80's media can be. I haven't read Mary Higgins Clark for years and wanted to revisit some of the books I read with my grandmother as a kid.  Definitely whets my interest to read the "sequel" that was released earlier this year.

A whole new generation and yet the same recurring nightmare.  Melissa who was one of the children who had been abducted nearly forty years ago has recently married a man whose first wife suspiciously died leaving him with their young daughter Riley.  While in Melissa's care, Riley goes missing.  Drawing on their own abduction, Melissa and Mike race to find Riley to save her from the trauma they still struggle with.  It was ok.  Not up to par with the books that Mary Higgins Clark would put out.  She will be missed.

I wanted to reread this since I knew the sequel was being released.  It was as well written and creepy as I remember it.  What this poor mother goes through is every moms nightmare.  I enjoyed the twists and turns very much and I look forward to reading all about Nancy Harmon and how she moved forward with her life.  Would highly recommend reading this before the sequel.

In the 7th installment in the Under Suspicion series, Laurie and her fiancee Alex find themselves searching for Alex's nephew after being abducted from the beach.  The wedding is put on hold as the search takes on a sinister twist.  Will he be found alive?  An excellent installment in the series.  I enjoyed it very much.  Mary Higgins Clark has left the series in very capable hands.  I do hope that Alafair Burke carries on.  We will miss you, Mary Higgins Clark.

Typical Mary Higgins Clark, there are many characters and plot twists.  It was worth the wait, I enjoyed it very much.
