This novel re-acquaints us with Mitch and Abbey McDeere; the couple who first appeared in "The Firm" 15 years ago.  They are happy and contented, living with their twin boys in Manhattan.  Both have thriving careers.  Then one of Mitch's mentors in Rome asks him for a favor that will take him far from home.  Very soon their idyllic life will be turned upside down. 

 I didn't really care for this one...I read every book Grisham writes.  Too many characters, too many loose ends.  Even the ending was disappointing.  Barely 3 out of 5 stars from me!

 

The President's Daughter by Bill Clinton and James Patterson-594 pages

Michael Keating is a former Navy SEAL -- and a former President of the United States.  Now relocated to rural New Hampshire,  all he wants is to have a normal family life..even though he is still surrounded by secret service agents.  But then a terrorist who is bent on revenge kidnaps his daughter.  He will have to pull in some favors and rely on his Seal training to try to rescue her since he is getting no help from the current President.  It is quite a thriller and I enjoyed it very much.

Eve Dallas has one of her most difficult cases yet.  A whole family was murdered in their beds, including the housekeeper.  While examining the scene, Eve discovers a young girl hiding in the bathroom.  Turns out the young daughter had snuck downstairs in the night for a drink and had hidden during the attack.  Her friend who had spent the night was killed in her place.  Now Eve must hunt down the killers while keeping the girl safe from them.

I listened to this on audio.  It was a great entry in the Eve Dallas series by J.D. Robb (aka - Nora Roberts).  I really enjoy listening to these books on audio and need to hunt more of them down.

It's time for the St. Kleio Academy's Expo where the clones all show off their school projects.  But right in the middle of a presentation, terrorists attack trying to kill all the clones.

After a first book that really didn't grab me, I am really getting into this series.  It is very quick to read with lots of action and character development.  I am definitely looking forward to reading the rest of the series and figuring out all the conspiracies and secrets.

Dead Run: The Murder of a Lawman and the Greatest Manhunt of the Modern American West - 320 pages

Very interesting true crime story that began in the small town of Cortez, Colorado. The author does a good job of explaining all that he has learned about this horrific event that took place in 1998.  With hundreds of  law enforcement that includes the FBI, the National Guard as well a local law from the originating town and all the surrounding towns and counties they amass quite a posse to hunt down three modern day desperadoes. Questions persist as to what really happened and how these men died.

Kill Alex Cross by James Patterson

Kill Alex Cross by James Patterson, 364 pages

This is James Patterson at his best.  The kidnapping of the President's children and the threat of terrorist attacks on Washington, D.C. are very believable contemporary themes.  A fast moving read.
