Hollywood Said NO!: Orphaned Film Scripts, Bastard Scenes, and Abandoned Darlings from the Creators of Mr. Show, by Bob Odenkirk, David Cross, Brian Posehn

Front Cover Hollywood Said NO!: Orphaned Film Scripts, Bastard Scenes, and Abandoned Darlings from the Creators of Mr. Show, by Bob Odenkirk, David Cross, Brian Posehn, 288 pages

There are only two requirements for enjoying this book:
1. You MUST be a fan of the '90s show Mr. Show with Bob and David and
2. You MUST listen to it as an audiobook.
The audio is way better- it is narrated by most of the original cast, and features a few off-script moments that are worthwhile.  If you weren't a fan or familiar with the Mr. Show format, this will just feel scattered, weird, and perhaps offensive.  If you were a fan, it will be like coming home.  I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Kill Me Softly, by Sarah Cross

Kill Me Softly, by Sarah Cross, 336 pages

Mirabelle is an orphan, raised by two godmothers who tell her she must never go back to the city she was born in.  So of course, before her 16th birthday, she sneaks away from home to find her roots.  What she finds is a city of fairy tale-cursed compatriots, with whom she shares a curse.  Personally, I hated this book- the main character was totally unlikable and annoying.  But teens may be drawn to the fairy-tale retelling nature of it.

Kill Alex Cross by James Patterson

Kill Alex Cross by James Patterson, 364 pages

This is James Patterson at his best.  The kidnapping of the President's children and the threat of terrorist attacks on Washington, D.C. are very believable contemporary themes.  A fast moving read.
