Tactics, v.7 by Sakura Kinoshita - 192 pages
Tactics, v.8 by Sakura Kinoshita - 192 pages
These are the final two English volumes of Tactics.
Volume 7 has Kantarou, Youko, and Haruka traveling to a small town where there is an organization supposedly raising people from the dead. What's really happening is that their spirits are being put inside dolls. While there, Kantarou and Haruka get into an argument.
Volume 8 concludes the fight between Minimoto and Kantarou over the town. It then starts to tell short stories featuring various yokai.
It's annoying that I can't get the final volumes as the preview of the next volume shows that it was going to reveal Haruka's back story. I guess I won't find out how the series ended.

Tactics, v.6 by Sakura Kinoshita
Tactics, v.6 by Sakura Kinoshita - 184 pages
This volume basically contains three short stories that reveal more about the characters rather than advancing the plot. We see a day in the life of Watanabe, Kantarou becoming distracted and forgetting to ask about Haruka's past, and Kantarou's search for a missing boy. The stories were fun -- especially the one about Kantarou getting distracted as it included almost every character ever introduced into Tactics.

Tactics, v.5 by Sakura Kinoshita
Tactics, v.5 by Sakura Kinoshita & Kazuko Higashimaya - 184 pages
In this volume we finally discover who is after Haruka. Another plot fails to expose the demon eater as well as a plot to steal Rosalie, the young girl being raised by Hasumi.
I'm eager to continue reading the series now that the mastermind is finally exposed. I'm waiting to discover exactly "what" he is.

Tactics, v.4 by Sakura Kinoshita
Tactics, v.4 by Sakura Kinoshita - 184 pages
This continues the story of yokai exorcist Kantarou and the tengu eating demon Hakura. This volume seems to be starting an arc that is introducing the main foes of Kantarou and Hakura. They want to destroy Hakura and test the abilities of Kantarou.

Tactics, v.3 by Sakura Kinoshita
Tactics, v.3 by Sakura Kinoshita - 180 pages
This continues the story of Kantarou and the demon eater Hakura. This volume contains two stories. The first is of two sisters and the men in town who are being killed. It was fairly obvious who was behind the killing but I have to admit the motivations were not what I thought they would be. The second story is the search for a magical item versus an old school rival. I believe this story is setting up a future arc with the introduction of a couple new characters and the revelation about a previous character. I'm enjoying this series more with each story. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

Tactics by Sakura Kinoshita
Tactics, v.2 by Sakura Kinoshita - 200 pages
Volume 2 continues the story of Kantarou, a yokai exorcist, and Hakura, the demon Kantarou named and now controls. In this volume, they have three cases to solve. The first case is a child that seems to be possessed but that really has a secret to hide. The second case is a village where the children are being taken by a mountain god. The third case involves a Christian priest that is trying to raise Lucifer and thinks it might be Hakura.
I'm enjoying this manga. I really like how Kantarou is manipulative to get those around him to do what he wants. I'm also enjoying the mystery of Hakura and his past.

Tactics, v.1 by Sakura Kinoshita
Tactics, v.1 by Sakura Kinoshita
Kan is a folklorist who also happens to be an exorcist. He sees yokai, or spirits. But instead of exorcising them he befriends them and tries to help them.
This volume he finally meets the most powerful yokai of them all and names his Haruka. This binds Haruka to Kan so that he has to do whatever Kan wants. They work together to rescue several yokai on display in a show and then help a young man being chased for his father's work on hypnotism.
I enjoyed this manga. It was fun to have a main character that cheerfully manipulated and blackmailed his "friends" into doing what he wanted them to do. Yet he did because he truly wants them to be his friends.
