I listened to this on audio.  I enjoyed the story even though I figured out how the missing body was moved pretty early on.  my main quibble was that though most of the dialects used for the characters was really well done -- there was one dialect that was very unauthentic and grating.

Volume 2 continues the story of Kantarou, a yokai exorcist, and Hakura, the demon Kantarou named and now controls.  In this volume, they have three cases to solve.  The first case is a child that seems to be possessed but that really has a secret to hide.  The second case is a village where the children are being taken by a mountain god.  The third case involves a Christian priest that is trying to raise Lucifer and thinks it might be Hakura.

I'm enjoying this manga.  I really like how Kantarou is manipulative to get those around him to do what he wants.  I'm also enjoying the mystery of Hakura and his past.

The Squirrel Mother, by Megan Kelso

The Squirrel Mother, by Megan Kelso, 136 pages

This was a series of short stories related in graphic form.  It was less of a cohesive story or even a selection of short stories, and more like vignettes depicting a single memory, a single emotion, or a single event.  One story was about a girl staying with her aunt, but then getting locked out as her aunt apparently had a mental break; another was about a squirrel mother who decided that she just couldn't take care of her squirrel babies anymore.  Elements remind me of the works of Lynda Barry (but just elements, because Lynda Barry is the greatest person in the entire world and no one is as good as her).  I would say this is probably more for older teens or adults.
