It goes awry when someone dresses up as the Egyptian Pharaoh Shaggunkamen (who the exhibit is based on) and begins terrorizing everyone in the museum. Scooby and the gang have to solve the mystery of who's behind the mask (like always).

I am a big St. Louis Cardinals fan, so this was a very interesting, enlightening read. The Cardinals Hall of Fame and Museum has many cool artifacts from the entire span of the Cardinals franchise (including items from other teams like the Browns and the Stars). Additionally, I learned a few things that I didn't know about the Cardinals and some of the major figures of the past and present. One thing I learned is that Branch Rickey was manager of the Cardinals before he became GM and the Museum has a 1919 game-worn Branch Rickey uniform from his time as manager. Also, I learned about Frankie Frisch, Jim Bottomley, Chick Hafey, Joe Medwick, and others that I knew very little about before reading this book. As a result of reading this book, I really want to visit the Cardinals Hall of Fame & Museum.

This was an interesting read. I knew about many of the historic sites and places mentioned, but there were a few new to me, so that made it worth while. I worked for a summer at one of the places mentioned (Shiloh National Military Park in Tennessee) and have visited several others, but I have yet to visit any in the east and I really want to go to Gettysburg, Antietam, and to all the sites in Virginia. I wanted to read this not only because it meets the travel requirement for this month but also because I am somewhat of a Civil War expert/historian and I have visited and want to visit many of the sites detailed in this volume.

The Night at the Museum by Milan Trenc - 32 pages

In this 1993 book (reprint 2006), we see the basis for the outline of the movie that would be based on it.  However, the stories differ.  In the book Larry is one of many night guards at the museum, not the only.  It is his first night and the other guards have played a trick on him as he searches for the missing dinosaur skeletons.  As in the movie, all the inanimate objects representing former living objects come alive at night and wreck havoc within the museum.  In this case, since the movie vastly expands on the children's book, I will admit to liking the movie better.  And while the basic premise remains the same, the main change is that the movie only has one guard and that slightly changes the plot.
