Yule Log Murder by Leslie Meier

Yule Log Murder by Leslie Meier, 123 pages

I read this book over Christmas break, which it was perfect for.  Actually, this book also contains stories by two other mystery authors.  I read the Yule Log Murder because I love the character Lucy Stone.  This short story did not disappoint.  When a large movie studio comes to film a movie in Tinkers Cove, floods of extras come out to play parts in the period piece including Lucy Stone.  But when Bobbi the cook is found murdered, Lucy is left to discover who killed her.

Mother's Day Murder by Leslie Meier

Mother's Day Murder, 234 pages

I try and read all of Leslie Meier's books that I haven't read around the appropriate corresponding holiday.  So, what better time to read Mother's day Murder than at Mother's Day. Although, murder and Mother's day don't really seem like they would go together.  But, I love mysteries and I love Lucy Stone murder mysteries.  Maybe, because she is some kind of hero to me because she is a mother and worker who tries to balance everything in her life.  Sometimes, her life gets a little chaotic.  In this current book, Lucy has to find out who killed the mother of one of her daughters classmates.  Before the murder occurred, the two of the mothers had been feuding.  One was the victim and the other the suspect, but when it is revealed who the true suspects are, everyone is shocked.

St. Patrick's Day Murder by Leslie Meier

St. Patrick's Day Murder by Leslie Meier, 280 pages

What could be better than reading a cozy St. Patrick's Day mystery in the month of March?  Leslie Meier writes the Lucy Stone Mystery books that are what I call a warm cozy read.  In this book, the town of Tinker's Cove is putting on an Irish play with the help of Irish director Dylan Malone.  But when he comes to town and finds his brother Dan has been murdered, it becomes more than just a simple task.  Dan's body is found in the ocean missing his head. When Dylan later turns up attacked, the weapon used is shocking.  Can Lucy help the local police department solve the murder before the killer comes after Dylan's wife and daughter?

Father's Day Murder by Leslie Meier

Father's Day Murder by Leslie Meier, 234 pages

Father's Day Murder is the tenth book in the Lucy Stone mystery series.  Lucy Stone is a reporter with the Pennysaver Newspaper in Tinker's Cove, Maine and is an amateur sleuth on the side.  In this timely mystery, read to coincide with the June holiday, Lucy is sent to a newspaper convention in Boston, MA to better herself as a reporter.  Unfortunately, when a bigwig editor is killed, Lucy chooses to miss her workshops in favor of finding out of who killed Luther Read.  Mostly, Lucy has to prove Luther's son did not commit the crime.  The identity of the real murderer is a shocker.  But the big question is, will Lucy make it home in time for Father's Day?
