The Midnight Library by Matt Haig

Pages: 288

I have been wanting to read this book since it came out. I finally got around to it. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint.

As someone who finds herself regretting a lot of my life choices but learning that they are what shaped me. This book was interesting to read. We all have regrets, but what if we did them differently? What if we chased that individual across states just to be with them. What if we took that job over seas. What if you followed that dream you had since you were a teen. Who would you be, and would you even regret those things once you saw how everything would have played out.

That is the question Nora Seed gets to find out about herself. She chose to stop living, just to be able to end up in the Midnight Library. Opening each book of regrets to see what would have been the life she chose.

It is a really interesting read because we can't go back in time but we always wonder and sometimes it is nice to have those things answered.

The Obsession by Jesse Q. Sutanto

Pages: 320

This book was okay. I didn't hate it. Didn't love it.

It was very predictable as things unfolded, which as a thriller that might have been what made me feel neutral about it.

Delilah has been controlled by sketchy men her whole life, until she takes things into her own hands.

Logan is infatuated with Delilah. He will do anything to maintain having her in his life.

I feel for Delilah because even after taking control of her life, she still is a magnet for sketchy men. She just wants what every other girl wants. A normal happy relationship. Which she thought she had with Logan.

Logan, this guy is a walking red flag. Yet on the other hand if he wasn't so creepy and intense he might have had things play out the way he wanted. Instead he hid cameras around Delilah's life. He blackmailed, and in his mind things had progressed way faster than on her end.

Sunday Supper by K. Sinko

Pages : 321

It is December so I can officially call it, this was my favorite book I have read this year.

So much that I initially read this on Kindle, and then had to buy a physical copy because I needed it in my own library.

For starters this book felt like I was reading a hallmark movie. It is also based in NY and I have a romanticized version of NY in my mind, which this book captured perfectly. Bella's family was very relatable and I kind of wanted her grandmother to adopt me into the family.

The story starts off with Bella. A girl who just lost everything, and learns that her family has a little secret of there own. A Uncle who owns a lot of restaurant's, she has not known about till now. In the hunt for a connection with her long lost Uncle, she meets a chef. That starts a flirtatious relationship over his deconstructed meatballs and her Nona's recipe.

This book is perfect for a cozy rainy day read. You will end up happy for the characters, rooting for there cute moments. Then whirled away into the drama that is the Uncle/Nona relationship.

Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

Pages : 416

I recall reading this when it was initially popular and I was obsessed, I still am.

In this world everyone is separated into classes. Reds are commoners and Silvers are the Elite. Based of blood color and power. Mare Barrow her entire life assumed she was a Red based off her blood and status. Everything changes for her when it was discovered that she is in fact a Silver, even though her blood is not.

Forced to be married to a son of the Silver Palace, under a hidden identity Mare must learn who she can trust, who she loves, and if the resistance is something she should be in.

This book reminded me a lot of Cinder in that it was a girl, a prince, and a rebellion.

It was addictive to read, and I knew something sketchy was up with one of the princes. I wanted Mare to ger her Prince after all.

If you like a typical Teen book this is a solid go-to.
