Nate Burke has just moved to Lunacy, Alaska to take the position of chief of police. Meg Calloway knows just by looking at him that he's sad, depressed, and lonely. They're just beginning a relationship, both bringing major issues to it, when a past crime comes to light that will impact both their lives forever.
I read this book when it first came out in 2004. I decided to pick it up again when I didn't have anything to read the other day. I enjoyed it just as much the second time as I did the first time reading it. It's a great character study as well as an intriguing romance.
