Library Wars v.1 by Kiiro Yumi – 200 pages

Library Wars v.1 by Kiiro Yumi – 200 pages

Iku Kasahara is a recruit in the Library Forces, formed by libraries to protect their collections from government censorship under the Media Betterment Act.  She butts heads with her superior, Sergeant Atsuji Dojo, who is alternately tough and tender as he attempts to help her become her best.  Kasahara is chosen for an elite squad, the Library Task Force, and has the additional difficulty of getting along with Tezuka, who doesn’t think she has the chops to cut it.  The military training gets tougher, and Kasahara has to learn the ins-and-outs of finding books in the library collection.  Though the layout of the dialogue can be hard to follow at times, the art is crisp.  The types of these characters is familiar, but the library setting is interesting enough to make me want to see what happens next.
