MeruPuri v.1 by Matsuri Hino – 192 pages
Airi is a high school girl who dreams of finding her perfect
soul mate to settle down with. One day,
a young boy appears through the old heirloom mirror she keeps on her. Aram is seeking refuge from the kingdom of
Astale, where his older half-brother prince Jeile seeks to keep him under a
spell. Airi discovers that the imperfectly-cast
spell causes Aram to age in the dark. He
can appear as a teenager even though he’s a young boy inside, and a kiss on the
cheek will take him back to his original size.
Aram’s presence causes sows discord in Airi’s life when her classmate
Nakaoji shows interest in her, but Aram’s possessiveness causes Nakaoji to
mistake Aram for her boyfriend, and drop his suit. Sibling rivalry comes to a head when Jeile
appears, decides he wants Airi for himself, and imprisons her in an instant
castle conjured in the park. Airi repels
his advances, and Jeile decides to revoke the spell on Aram. However, Jeile botches his spellwork, leaving
Aram still in Airi’s care at the end of the volume so the story can
continue. Beautifully drawn with elegant
linework by the author of Vampire Knight, the gorgeous pages are a feast for
the eyes, and the characters and story lively.
