Quinn and Penny Investigate How to Research by Thomas Kingsley Troupe

Quinn and Penny Investigate How to Research by Thomas Kingsley Troupe - 24 pages

In this book, Quinn and Penny, as the title indicates, learn how to conduct research and are portrayed as detectives.  First they come up with a topic (the Loch Ness Monster) and draft questions.  When conducting research, they visit the library.  They make sure to use the table of contents, bibliography, reference books, and the Internet, including databases) to find sources and also check the sources for bias.  After selecting sources, they take notes and write-up the research in a creative way.

I liked how this book presented the research process in a step-by-step manner.  That makes it not only for kids to understand, but also English-language learners.  It a;so has a series of blue caption bubbles that run along the bottom that provide additional things to consider while researching or research tips.
