The All-Girl Filling Station's Last Reunion By Fannie Flagg

The All-Girl Filling Station's Last Reunion:  A Novel by Fannie Flagg - 347 pages

Mrs. Sookie Poole has just married off her last daughter and is looking forward to relaxing, feeding her backyard birds and traveling with her husband.  But it is not to be as an unexpected package arrives one day and suddenly she finds herself questioning who she really is.  The story leads us back in time to the 1940's when the United States is getting pulled into WWII.  We meet a family in Iowa who has four girls who take over the running of their fathers filling station.  Soon, male drivers from all over the mid-west are coming to the station..not just to fill up but to see the girls!  Fannie Flagg once more delivers a wonderful story of love, forgiveness and the varying aspects of human nature.  We also learn that no matter what our age we can gain inspiration from the most unexpected places that will ultimately bring out the best in us.
