Pierce Oliviera has been chosen by John Hayden, AKA Sorter of the Dead in the Underworld, to be his consort. She has given up her normal life to live in the Underworld with John. It's not smooth sailing, though. The Furies are not happy that a human is living with the dead and they won't stop until they have taken out Pierce. It's up to Pierce and John to defeat the Furies and save their relationship.
This is the final book in the Abandon trilogy, which was a take on on the Hades/Persephone myth. The series started out strong, but ended on kind of a low point. It felt like it took a long time to get to the climax and, even then, it was kind of a let down. It had a lot of promise, but failed to deliver.
