The Knave of Hearts by Elizabeth Boyle

The Knave of Hearts by Elizabeth Boyle - 378 pages
Rhymes with Love series

Lavinia Tempest's introduction to society did not go well.  Now she and her twin sister are being blackballed by society.  So she accepts an offer from Tuck Rowland to make her a "diamond" of society.  She doesn't know that Tuck has made a bet that he can turn the sisters into the most sought after ladies of the season . . .

This is the sequel to The Viscount Who Lived Down the Lane.  I think I enjoyed this book more than the previous one.  While both were humorous, I found this one to be more engaging and funny.  I'm definitely going to find more books by this author to read.

The Accidental Duchess by Madeline Hunter

The Accidental Duchess by Madeline Hunter - 389 pages

When Lady Lydia Alfreton is blackmailed over a novel manuscript she wrote several years ago, she must come up with $10,000 to pay off the blackmailer.  The only way she knows to do this is to accept the wager offered by Duke Penthurst a year ago.  She's confident she will win as she hasn't lost a wager in over a year.  What will she and the Duke do when to her shock she loses the bet?
I enjoyed this conclusion to the Fairbourne Quartet.  It tied up all the questions left over from the previous novels as well told an interesting story.
