The Human Cosmos by Jo Marchant

The Human Cosmos: Civilization and the Stars by Jo Marchant -386 pages

Marchant, a science writer, presents an interesting survey on how the cosmos impacted human progress and presents evidence that our modern disconnect from the natural night sky is actually dangerous to our health. It will give the reader a new appreciation of what appears overhead each night.

Island of Glass by Nora Roberts

Island of Glass by Nora Roberts - 352 pages
The Guardians Trilogy #3

The six guardians have found two of the fallen stars.  Now they've traveled back to Doyle's former home in Ireland to search for the last star.  Will they find the final star and the Island of Glass to save the world from Nerezza's evil?

This is the final book in Nora Robert's Guardians Trilogy.  It focuses mainly on Riley and Doyle and their growing romance as they complete their quest.  I have really enjoyed listening to this series on audio.  The narrator is excellent with the distinct voices of all the various characters.

Bay of Sighs by Nora Roberts

Bay of Sighs by Nora Roberts - 337 pages
The Guardians Trilogy #2

The six have found the first of the fallen stars and have even beaten back Nerezza for the moment.  However, Nerezza has a new recruit who is determined to not only get the stars for his queen but to also capture the six for his own amusement and revenge.

This is the second book of The Guardians Trilogy.  This one focuses on the time traveler Sawyer and the mermaid Annika.  Not only is their romance blooming, but they are also the ones pivotal to finding the second star.   I enjoyed listening to this book on audio.  I do think the accents are starting to blend together a little more than in the first audio.  I'm looking forward to listening to the final book.

Stars of Fortune by Nora Roberts

Stars of Fortune by Nora Roberts - 336 pages

Sasha Riggs finds herself on the island of Corfu.  There she meets five others she has been dreaming of for the past year.  Together they are meant to the find the fallen Stars of Fortune.  But will they be able to trust each other enough to become unified and find the stars?

I listened to this book, the first book in a trilogy by Nora Roberts, on audio.  I enjoyed the audio version of the book.  The narrator did a good job of keeping the various accents distinct even when in rapid dialogue between the many characters.  I already have the next book on audio on hold.

Island of Glass by Nora Roberts

Island of Glass by Nora Roberts - 339 pages
The Guardians Trilogy #3

The six Guardians have found the first two fallen stars. Now they must find the final star -- The Star of Ice -- hidden somewhere in Ireland.  This is the most difficult for Doyle as it's his first time home to Ireland since his parents died 300 years ago.  He must break down emotional barriers he's kept erected for centuries to find this final star and defeat evil for all time.

This is the final book in the Guardians Trilogy.  It focuses on the final two Guardians -- immortal Doyle and werewolf Riley.  The book moves very quickly.  The ending is almost anti-climatic as it comes too quickly and easily.  Still, I enjoyed the reading the series and this was a good ending book.

Bay of Sighs by Nora Roberts

Bay of Sighs by Nora Roberts - 338 pages
Book 2 - The Guardians Trilogy

The six have moved on to Island of Capri to search for the second star.  They beat back Nerezza after finding the first star, but now she has found an ally in Malmon who she slowly changes into something more than human.  It is up to Annika to find the lost star and Sawyer to help beat back Nerezza once again.

This is the second book in the romance trilogy.  It focuses on the mermaid Annika and the space/time traveler Sawyer.  While I enjoyed the book, it was not as engrossing as the first in the series.  Still, I look forward to the final book.
