Naked in Death by J.D. Robb

Naked in Death by J.D. Robb - 313 pages

Lieutenant Eve Dallas has just been put on her highest profile murder ever.  The prostitute granddaughter of a U.S. senator has been murdered.  All the clues of the murder lead her to prominent, mysterious businessman Roarke.  Will Eve be able to clear his name?

This is the first book in the futuristic cop series by Nora Roberts.  I've read several of the later books in the series and thought I should read the first book.  It was interesting to see how the characters have changed over the course of the series.

This is the first in the Eve Dallas series by Nora Roberts.  They are futuristic mystery novels.  In this book, she investigates when someone starts killing licensed companions (a.k.a. prostitutes) including a senator's granddaughter.  Through the investigation she meets businessman Roarke and becomes involved with him.

Married by Morning by Lisa Kleypas

Married by Morning by Lisa Kleypas - 341 pages

Charlotte Marks has been the paid companion and tutor to the younger Hathaway sisters for two years.  In that time, she has argued constantly with their older brother Leo.  Turns out that arguing is covering up some very intense feelings for each other.  However, she has a secret in her past that if it came out would ruin her.  She has no choice to run away when someone recognizes her from her previous life.  Leo, however, doesn't feel the same way and chases after her.
This was a fun, quick historical romance to read.  I enjoyed the characters and the story.  I'm looking forward to going back and reading the rest of the series from the beginning.

The River Knows by Amanda Quick

The River Knows by Amanda Quick - 355 pages

Louisa Bryce met Anthony Stalbridge when she's trying to search Lord Hasting's bedroom for evidence of his connection to a notorious brothel.  Stalbridge is there to see if he can find evidence of his fiancee's murder.  They decide to join forces to expose Lord Hasting's many nefarious deeds to London Society.
This was a very quick read.  While the ending was predictable, I still enjoyed reading how they got there.
