Lost Melody by Lori Copeland and Virginia Smith -- 315 pages
Since the subway accident, Jillian King hasn't played piano. The scars on her left hand and the pain in her hip remind her almost constantly of the amazing delight and career that she lost.
It's true that her mind hasn't fully recovered, but she is certainly moving in the right direction, when she begins to have a dream over and over. Each time she wakes, she is filled with certainty of a coming disaster and a compulsion to warn people.
Is it just late signs of PTSD, as her fiance, Greg, believes? Or is there actually a coming disaster?
I listened to the audiobook. The narration was fine, but the story I found to be mediocre.

Piano Lessons Can Be Murder (Goosebumps #13) by R.L. Stine
Piano Lessons Can Be Murder--Goosebumps #13 by R.L. Stine-124 pages
I actually never read Goosebumps as a kid, even though they were extremely popular, so I though I would read one (or maybe more). It was kind of funny and interesting, actually, but not scary (although I could maybe see my 12-year-old self being scared). The plot of this particular book interested me because I have always liked the ghost playing the piano/organ plot. I actually kind of enjoyed reading this book.

Behind the Candelabra by Scott Thorson
Behind the Candelabra: My Life with Liberace by Scott Thorson- 239 pgs
Behind the Candelabra is the story of Scott Thorson's life with the famous entertainer Liberace. Thorson grew up in a series of foster homes and it was only by chance that he came in contact with the piano man. Thorson's life changed forever after that meeting. He became Liberace's lover and confident and soon learned how to spend money extravagantly with Liberace's help. After five years and plastic surgery to look more like Liberace, Liberace grew tired of Thorson and "traded" him in for a younger model. After the breakup, Thorson was denied of all his belongings, vehicles and home that were given to him by Liberace. Thorson sued and the suit was settled months before Liberace died of AIDS. It is an interesting look into an entertainer who denied his homosexuality until the day he died. An HBO movie was released this summer based on this book with Matt Damon as Thorson and Michael Douglas as Liberace.
