Lightning in a Mirror by Jayne Ann Krentz

Lightning in a Mirror by Jayne Ann Krentz -- 310 pages
The Fogg Lake Trilogy #3

Olivia LeClair is having no luck at her speed dating event.  Then Harlan Rancourt shows up.  Harlan has been presumed dead for the last five years but has now shown up to ask Olivia's help is stopping someone from finding a cache of hidden paranormal weapons.  It only gets more strange after that.

This the final book in the Fogg Lake Trilogy.  I thought it was a great ending to the series while opening up several avenues for the future books.  I would definitely recommend this book to fans of Jayne Ann Krentz and paranormal romance.

All the Colors of Night by Jayne Ann Krentz

All the Colors of the Night by Jayne Ann Krentz -- 324 pages
The Fogg Lake Trilogy -- book 2

North Chastain is trying to find the paranomal artifact that put his father in a coma.  He works with Sierra Raines to discover who attacked his father and try to heal him.

I enjoyed the second book in the Fogg Lake trilogy.  The plot was interesting with just enough twists to keep the mystery going.  A definitely must read for Jayne Ann Krentz fans.

All the Colors of Night by Jayne Ann Krentz

All the Colors of Night by Jayne Ann Krentz - 324 pages
Fogg Lake Trilogy #2

Sierra Raines is hired by North Chastain to track down the psychic artifact that he suspects put his father in a coma.  This investigation leads to someone with a vendetta against North's family.  Meanwhile, in the background is the shadowy Vortex organization trying to find a cache of psychic weapons.

This is a typical Jayne Ann Krentz paranormal romance.  It does tie together several of her series -- Fogg Lake and Arcane Society.  It will be interesting to see if the ties become closer throughout future books.  I will say that the romance was very quick -- taking place over only three days.  That seems a little quick even for romance novels for true love to occur.

The Pirate / The Adventurer / The Cowboy by Jayne Ann Krentz

The Pirate by Jayne Ann Krentz - 248 pages
The Adventurer by Jayne Ann Krentz - 249 pages
The Cowboy by Jayne Ann Krentz - 251 pages

These were three of Jayne Ann Krentz's earliest books.  They are loosely connected as the female main characters of the three books are best friends.  Each one is a romance writer who finds the man of her dreams -- the epitome of the hero of their books.  You can definitely tell these books are from the 80s.  They are dated.  Still they were fun to read.

Sizzle and Burn by Jennifer Ann Krentz

Sizzle and Burn by Jennifer Ann Krentz - 467 pages

Zack Jones, an investigator, and Raine Tallentyre must work together to solve the mystery of a missing scientist with ties to Raine's family past.
This is the first book in the Arcane Society series about a secretive psychical society.  The mystery was interesting and the romance was fun to read.  A great introduction to the series.

Trust No One by Jayne Ann Krentz

Trust No One by Jayne Ann Krentz - 337 pages

Grace has a lot going on right now.  Her boss was murdered.  She's out of a job.  And the old nightmares are back.  She doesn't need a blind date to make things worse -- which it does when Jasper asks if she's the one who murdered her boss . . .

I listened to this on audio.  The story was interesting and the narration was good.  It did have extremely long pauses between the chapters which was odd.

The Vanishing by Jayne Ann Krentz

The Vanishing by Jayne Ann Krentz - 294 pages

Catalina and her best friend were witnesses to a murder 15 years ago.  Nobody believed them so they stopped talking about it.  But now, someone has set out to find the witnesses.  Catalina must work with fellow investigator Slater to find her kidnapped friend and discover what really happened then and now.

I believe this is probably the first book in a new paranormal series by Jayne Ann Krentz.  All of the characters are psychic in some way.  It also features a huge conspiracy theory.  I enjoyed the book although at times the story felt rushed.

Smoke in Mirrors by Jayne Ann Krentz

Smoke in Mirrors by Jayne Ann Krentz - 321 pages

Meredith Spooner was a con artist whose last con was to swindle over a million dollars from a small college trust fund.  Now Leonora Hutton is paying for her friend's sins.  She must recover the money and then try to discover why Meredith was killed.

I enjoyed this book.  It was a quick romantic mystery to read.

Untouchable by Jayne Ann Krentz

Untouchable by Jayne Ann Krentz - 320 pages

This is the final book in the Quinton Zane trilogy by Jayne Ann Krentz.  Jack and Winter must work together when Quentin targets Winter in an attempt to kill Jack.

I listened to this on audio.  The story was interesting and the narration was excellent.  It was unusual that the final book was shorter and less involved than the other two books in the series.  Still, I would definitely recommend that those who read the first two books read this one also.

I really enjoyed this audio book.  The narration, including Texas accents, was fun and drew you into the story.  I would definitely recommend this book.

Dream Eyes by Jayne Ann Krentz - 325 pages

Gwen Frazier has a unique psychic ability.  She can talk to the "ghosts" found at scenes of violent death.  When she stumbles upon the death of her friend, she asks psychic investigator Judson Coppersmith to help her determine who killed her friend.

This is a book loosely connected to the Arcane Society books by Jayne Ann Krentz.  I enjoyed the book.  It was an interesting mystery with several twists that kept you guessing.

Promise Not to Tell by Jayne Ann Krentz

Promise Not to Tell by Jayne Ann Krentz - 325 pages

Gallery owner Virginia Troy has spent years trying to put the nightmare of her cult childhood in the past.  But not it is coming back to haunt her and fellow childhood cult member Cabot Sutter.  A former cult member was murdered.  Sow it looks like someone is searching for the money that went missing when the cult imploded and they think Virginia is the key to finding that money.

This is the sequel to When All the Girls Have Gone.  I listened to this on audio and enjoyed it.  The story was interesting and the narrator did a good job of telling the story.

White Lies by Jayne Ann Krentz

White Lies by Jayne Ann Krentz - 371 pages

Clare Lancaster is summoned to Arizona by her father.  Unfortunately, this visit goes no better than the last time.  Once again someone is murdered and the killer is trying to frame Clare for it.  Luckily, she has Jake Salter on her side to help her investigate and determine what is going on.

This is the first novel in the Arcane Society series.  While I guessed the killer fairly quickly in the story, I still enjoyed the book.

Untouchable by Jayne Ann Krentz

Untouchable by Jayne Ann Krentz - 308 pages

Jack Lancaster has a unique way of solving cold cases . . . he uses lucid dreaming.  However, he is finding it harder and harder to exit these dreams.  It's only with meditation specialist Winter Meadow's help that he's able to keep doing the work he's called to do.  Then the arsonist and killer that Jack has been hunting for nearly his entire life returns.  Will Jack and Winter be able to stop him before he kills again.

This is the third book in a series by Jayne Ann Krentz.  Each book featured one of a set of foster brother's hunting for the man who killed their mothers.  While I enjoyed this book, I thought it was the weakest of the three stories.  There was not as much to the story in terms of plot or characterization.  I also found the story rushed.  I would suggest it to those who enjoyed the previous two books.

Copper Beach by Jayne Ann Krentz

Copper Beach by Jayne Ann Krentz - 337 pages

Abby Radwell is a dealer in the paranormal rare books trade.  Her talent has led someone to blackmail her in an attempt to find and unlock a psi-coded paranormal field book.  Now she's working with Sam Coppersmith to try to find the man stalking her and the book.

This is the first in a two part series by Jayne Ann Krentz about the Coppersmith family.  It's also one of her paranormal books not included in the Arcane Society series.  I listened to this on audio and enjoyed it quite a bit.

Promise Not to Tell by Jayne Ann Krentz - 325 pages

Gallery owner Virginia Troy's anxiety attacks are getting worse now that one of her artists has died.  She gets help from detective Cabot Sutter as she believes the death has something to do with their past in a cult.  Is that cult leader really still alive and trying to hunt down Virginia for some reason?

I listened to the audiobook version of Jayne Ann Krentz's latest romantic suspense book.  I enjoyed the narration and the story.

Promise Not to Tell by Jayne Ann Krentz

Promise Not to Tell by Jayne Ann Krentz - 325 pages

Virginia Troy has tried to put her past as a young child in a cult commune behind her.  But now it appears that one of the other surviving members has been murdered and tried to send a message to Virginia before her death.  Virginia asks Cabot Sutter, another child survivor of the cult, to help her investigate whether the cult leader was still alive and what he wants with her.

This is the sequel to last year's book by Krentz -- When All the Girls Have Gone.  It looks like it will be a trilogy with the final book coming out next year.  I enjoyed this book.  It did a good job of keeping your guessing as to who was the ultimate villain of the story.

Sizzle and Burn by Jayne Ann Krentz

Sizzle and Burn by Jayne Ann Krentz - 467 pages

Raine is going through her aunt's house to get ready to sell it when she stumbles upon a crime scene.  Turns out a serial killer is using the house a base for his operations and there is a girl locked up in the basement.  Luckily the girl is still alive. However, this leads to the killer fixating on Raine as she is the niece of the local witch and he is determined to kill all the witches.  Meanwhile, Raine must also deal with her family's past when psychic investigator Zack Jones hunts her down in the course of his latest investigation.

This is one of the contemporary novels in the Arcane Society series by Jayne Ann Krentz.  (There are also historical entries under the name Amanda Quick and futuristic entries under Jayne Castle.)  This was a good entry in the series.

Light in Shadow by Jayne Ann Krentz

Light in Shadow by Jayne Ann Krentz - 369 pages

Zoe hires Ethan when she discovers that her interior design client killed his wife.  What she doesn't tell Ethan is that she knew this because she sensed the violence in the room where she was killed.  She also doesn't tell him her biggest secret -- that she escaped from a mental hospital where she was committed against her will by her in-laws.  But now, that secret is out and Ethan must help her escape the thugs from that mental hospital and her former family to keep her safe.

This is actually the first book in a two book series by Jayne Ann Krentz.  I had listened to the second book Truth or Dare a couple weeks ago on audio.  I would definitely suggest starting with this book first as it gives a lot of background that would have been useful in reading the second book.

Truth or Dare by Jayne Ann Krentz

Truth or Dare by Jayne Ann Krentz - 401 pages

Zoe and Ethan are settling into married life when things start to get interesting.  Zoe, a psychic interior decorator, starts sensing toxic spiderwebs at various locations throughout town.  Then their friend Arcadia seems to have a stalker.  They must work through these and more issues to get to their happily ever after.

This is actually the sequel to Light in Shadows so it was a little confusing.  I listened to this on audio and the narration was good as was the story.  However, there did seem to be several instances were previous knowledge was required.  Still I enjoyed the audiobook.
