This book gives the history and lyrics of 366 hymns. While a fair amount of the hymns were familiar, there were a lot that I had not heard before. I enjoyed this book.

Come Let Us Adore Him by Robert J. Morgan
This book contains 30 popular Christmas hymns and the stories behind their being written. I really enjoyed hearing the stories behind the hymns. The only one I was familiar with before was the writing of "Silent Night". A great book for those who love Christmas hymns.

Then Sings My Soul, Book 3 by Robert Morgan
This book is a history of the hymnody of the Christian church from biblical times through present day. The main portion of the book is similar to the first two books in the series (which I own) in that it gives a hymn and then the history of that hymn and its writer. This book also gives reasoning for using hymns in your private life and for incorporating contemporary hymns and old, traditional hymns in public worship. This was an excellent book that I hope to purchase for my personal collection.
