Dream Girl Drama (Big Shots, #3) by Tessa Bailey

Dream Girl Drama (Big Shots, #3) by Tessa Bailey-310 pages

⭐⭐⭐⭐

Sig Hauthier is a professional hockey player who meets his dream girl, Chloe Clifford after his beater truck breaks down in a country club parking lot in Darien, CT. They are both going to a dinner with one of their parents. It turns out that Sig's biological dad and Chloe's mom are engaged to be married and they're going to the same party. Can Sig and Chloe be platonic now that their parents are engaged? Will they get to be in a relationship eventually or will their parents go through with the impending nuptials? If Harvey and Sofia do get married, then what will happen to Chloe and Sig?

This was my first Tessa Bailey read and I enjoyed reading it. I'm getting into romance a little more. It's still not my favorite, but It's fine.

Elemental by Brigid Kemmerer

Elemental by Brigid Kemmerer, 50 pages

This small novella is just a taste of the adventure you'll find in the Elemental Series by Brigid Kemmerer. The story was short but packed full of adventure. To give any of the story line away is to tell the whole story.  Although I could tell you that it involves people born with the power of wind, earth, fire or water ... and people who want the more powerful of those dead. If the intent of the author was to draw you into the series and make you want more, she definitely succeeded. I already have book one on hold and am looking forward to reading more about the Elementals.

Evernight by Claudia Gray

Evernight by Claudia Gray, 327 pages
Book 1 of the series

A Romeo & Juliet novel with one as a vampire and one as a vampire hunter. This book held a lot of twists and turns. I had some suspicions of who would be a vampire but nothing prepared me for the discovery. I was actually shocked and had to flip back to see if I had missed anything important that gave away answers - nothing. The story runs along at a brisk pace -- not too fast, not to slow. The romance is there but it's your typical teenage forbidden love romance.  This was the first book in the series and, while it did have a snippet of the second book at the back, it didn't hold me well enough to want to read anymore about the main character and her forbidden love story.
