Martha Stewart's Organizing: The Manual for Bringing Order to Your Life, Home, and Routines

Martha Stewart's Organizing: The Manual for Bringing Order to Your Life, Home, and Routines by Martha Stewart 288 pages

This book gives you a month by month guide of things you can be doing to make your life run a little more smoothly and elegantly. It also goes room to room in your home for some organization tips. She also gives you advice and timelines in areas such as pets, kids, and wellness.

I checked this book out from the library but will be purchasing it for my own collection. Of course, in some of it, she is a bit out of touch with the reality of most people (I will not be taking my summer shoes to the cobbler for example). However, I just took it with a grain of salt because the author is Martha Stewart so I went into it as more of an aspirational read anyway. It definitely inspired me to take my homemaking up a notch.

Living the Good Long Life by Martha Stewart

Living the Good Long Life by Martha Stewart, 400 pages

Martha Stewart writes this very practical guide on growing older and making smart choices.  She did have help writing this book.  She opened the Martha Stewart Center for Living at Mount Sinai Hospital in 2007.  Doctors from Mount Sinai assisted her with writing some of the medical portion of this book. I have read many of Martha's books and usually enjoy the colorful pictures in her books.  This book came up a little short in my opinion on colorful pictures. She begins this book with many tips for healthy eating and exercise, and tips for stimulating the brain.  She also gives tips for being prepared to care for yourself later in life.  In the future, I will stick to Martha's craft and recipe books and her magazine.

Martha Stewart's Favorite Crafts for Kids by Martha Stewart

Martha's Stewart's Favorite Crafts for Kids by Martha Stewart, 350 pages

I don't have young children, but this book was full of creative crafts for not only kids, but for adults as well.  I have always loved Martha Stewart's books, and this one has to be one of my favorites.  If I was a teacher or had young kids, I would probably purchase this book.  Most of these crafts are very simple as the title says, "for kids", and can be made from items found around the house.  I like that there are also many simple crafts for the holidays as well.  My favorite crafts have to be the cross stitch family and the simple hand made dolls I also liked the pipe cleaner animals, the dioramas and little hot wheels type garage.
