The Chestnut Soldier by Jenny Nimmo - 203 pages
The Magician Trilogy #3
Nia's cousin Evan has come to visit to recover from injuries sustained as a soldier. Unfortunately, his visit is used by an ancient "demon" as a chance to possess him. Magician Gwyn and Nia will have to work hard to save Evan and everybody.
This is the final book in the Magician Trilogy. I listened to it on audiobook. While I enjoyed the book, it was probably my least favorite out of the series. It was just longer with more build-up. The other books seemed more succinct in telling the story. Still, it was a good conclusion to the trilogy.

Emlyn's Moon by Jenny Nimmo
Emlyn's Moon by Jenny Nimmo - 152 pages
The Magician Trilogy - book 2
Nia has been warned her whole life to stay away from the chapel at the edge of town. Yet, she is intrigued by the boy who lives there - Emlyn. Slowly, he becomes a friend. When he is threatened, Nia must work with Gwyn to save his life.
This is the second book in the Magician Trilogy. I listened to it on audio. I liked this book even better than the first book. The characters and story were more interesting to me. The narration was really good and the music was not as distracting as in the first book. Although that might have been that I just got used to it.

The Snow Spider by Jenny Nimmo
The Snow Spider by Jenny Nimmo - 146 pages
The Magician Trilogy - book 1
Gwyn is given five mysterious objects for his 9th birthday with the instruction from his grandmother to give them to the wind and see if he is a magician. So he slowly starts feeding them to the wind, discovering magic and the ability to heal his family.
I listened to this on audio. I really enjoyed the audio version of this story. The story is interesting. The narration is well done. My only issue is that occasionally during high points in the story, quiet music plays in the background. It is very distracting.

The Glass Magician by Charlie N. Holmberg
The Glass Magician by Charlie N. Holmberg - 222 p.
Life can't seem to get back to normal after Ceony returned Magician Thane's heart back to him. For one, all she can think about is her love for Emery. But things change when some horrible Excisioners, evil magicians, come for her because they think she has a secret. Can she and those she loves escape?
I enjoyed this book, though much less than the first one of the series. Like the first, it is a quick read with not much extraneous detail, just the action, except maybe when it comes to Ceony's lovey-dovey thoughts about Emery. I could have done with a little less of that. I will be sticking in there and finishing out this trilogy.

Emlyn's Moon & The Chestnut Soldier by Jenny Nimmo
Emlyn's Moon by Jenny Nimmo - 152 pages
The Chestnut Soldier by Jenny Nimmo - 203 pages
These are the second and third books in The Magician Trilogy. They continue the story of magician Gwyn and his friends -- the Lloyds. Nia Lloyd plays a big part in these stories as a girl that has just enough magic in her to see everything going on around her.
