It is up to Juan Cabrillo and the crew of his ship, the Oregon, to stop a terrorist plot to release a deadly chemical weapon across the globe.
While interrupting an attack on a Kuwaiti oil tanker, Juan Cabrillo and his team discover something even more dangerous: a ruthless billionaire's dying wish has allowed a paralyzing chemical to end up in the hands of a terrorist group. When an Oregon crew member falls victim to the poison, Juan Cabrillo will stop at nothing to find an antidote before it is too late. He and his team must connect an ancient mystery with a cunning modern enemy in order to save millions of innocent lives, including their own.
This is the fifteenth installment in the Oregon Files series. I have always enjoyed reading Clive Cussler and his many series. It will be interesting to see the direction they will be taking now that he is gone.
Under the Alaskan Ice by Karen Harper-311 pages
This is the second installment in the Alaska Wild series. It is always fun to follow characters and see how the author expands their stories. This one is mainly about Meg and her son Chip. She is a young widow of a pilot of a small plane. Some of this book delves into her fear of ever flying again..let alone allowing her young son to fly. When Meg and Chip happen to witness a small bush plane crash it brings all things back to her. But then Commander Bryce comes to investigate the crash and they find out that they are indispensable to each other in more ways than one. It was an enjoyable read with lots of twists and turns.
William Warwick has been promoted to Detective Sergeant, but his promotion means that he, along with the rest of his team, have been reassigned to the Drugs Squad. They are immediately tasked with apprehending Khalil Rashidi, a notorious drug dealer, who operates his extensive network out of South London. Good thing Rashidi has the habit of visiting his mother every Friday because this is where William and his team pick up a clue that will help them nab him in the end!
This is the second installment in the William Warwick series. I enjoy Jeffrey Archers writing.
