Cinder by: Marissa Meyer

Pages: 400

I enjoyed this book so much that I read the first book (Cinder) in one sitting and then started book two (Scarlett) the same day.

The story is pretty much exactly what you would think. A cyborg/futuristic/dystopian fairytale playing off of Cinderella. One of my favorite things about this book is unlike the actual Cinderella where a fairy godmother swooped in and saved her. Cinder is alone.

She has to learn that it is just her who can fix the problem, no one is going to come in and hide all the parts of her that she was ashamed of or give her some glorious dress to attend the ball. She dusted off her grease (she is a mechanic) and took action herself. I love a fairytale as much as the next but I also think it is important to see a more realistic side.

I do love that this is a multi-book series. By the end of book one, I had so many unanswered questions.
