The Fairy's Return, Gail Carson Levine

The Fairy's Return, Gail Carson Levine | 400 pages

A silly take on a collection of classic fairy tales. Levine creates the world of Biddle which is home to the magical village of Snettering-on-Snoakes. I appreciate that the tales are placed into the same world - the main character from one becomes the parents/grandparents in the next. Certain elements like the Glass Hill and the Museum of Royal Quest Souvenirs keep coming up to tie the stories together.

I love Levine's creativity as she plays with these timeless tales. I giggled my way through!

Includes: Toads and Diamonds, Princess and the Pea, Sleeping Beauty, The Glass Hill, Pudducky (I don't know this one - seems to be a combination of Rapunzel and Frog Prince), and The Golden Goose.
