Her first book, "Overdressed," outlined all the bad things lurking from the clothes we buy whether it be the detrimental environmental impact, or the horrible conditions in which garment workers deal with. "The Conscious Closet," goes into great detail about what we as consumers can do about it. She covers everything from capsule wardrobes, how to care for our clothes, to new options of shopping such as online thrift stores or renting outfits.

I loved this book! "Overdressed" was a good read that was full of information, but it was more of a dry read and harder to get through. This second book though was amazing! I consider myself fairly "conscious," so a lot of books with tips on being more sustainable usually don't have a ton of new information to me, but this book did! I particularly enjoyed the section on caring for your clothes which goes into detail about simple sewing repairs and the benefits of hang drying your clothes. We live in a world now where clothes are so cheap we hardly take time to care for them. Once a button falls off or you get a small stain, we think that is enough to just toss it. However, by really taking care of our clothes and making them last, not only will this help us save money and the environment, but it gives your a deeper appreciation for what you wear. I could go on and on, but overall, this is a great book I wish more people would read.
