Spontaneous by Aaron Starmer

Spontaneous by Aaron Starmer - 355 pages

Mara is sitting in calculus class when all of sudden the student two desks in front of her explodes.  Then another classmate explodes.  And another.  Soon the senior class of Covington High is in quarantine as everyone tries to figure out when they are spontaneously combusting.

I was intrigued by this book as soon as I read the reviews.  It is truly a plot that I had never heard before.  The book didn't let me down.  The mystery of why the seniors are exploding, the relationships between Mara and her boyfriend and best friend, and the self-reflection all combine to make a read that I couldn't put down.
