Maus I: A Survivor's Tale: My Father Bleeds History
(Maus #1) by Art Spiegelman-159 pages
This is volume 1 of Art Spiegelman's graphic novels about his father's experience during the Holocaust. Spiegelman uses animals to depict the people involved, which is one of the reasons (the main reason) I chose to read this book. It is a sad, realistic story as it was for many Holocaust survivors. I like that Spiegelman writes the story as his father tells it to him and doesn't soften the story or alter the story in any way. Overall, it was a good read and I am reading the second (and final) graphic novel in the series next.
