The False Prince by Jennifer Nielsen

The False Prince by Jennifer Nielsen -- 352 pages

Sage has been at an orphanage for years and suddenly he is bought by a nobleman, Connor, who is plotting to--save the kingdom? Perhaps, but his means are questionable, at best. The more that Sage and the other orphan boys hear, the more it sounds like treason, but the boys don't have a choice.

This book reminded me of The Thief by Meghan Whalen Turner in its style and characters. The only difference was that I knew exactly what was coming almost the whole time. Even so, I did enjoy listening to this book.

This is the first book of the Ascendance Trilogy
