Princess of the Silver Woods by Jessica Day George

Princess of the Silver Woods by  Jessica Day George - 326 pages

It's been teen years since Princess Petunia and her sisters were rescued from the terrible nighttime dances of the King Under the Stone.  It's been ten years of quiet and peace.  But now the princesses are dreaming once again of the midnight balls and the terrible "princes" who want them for their brides.

Have they discovered how to escape their underground prison?
Will the princesses be forced to dance once more?

This is the final book in the Princess of the Midnight Ball trilogy by Jessica Day George.  I really liked the first two books in the series.  The first book Princess of the Midnight Ball was a straight retelling of "The Twelve Dancing Princesses".  The second book Princess of Glass was a retelling of "Cinderella".  Both of them were really well done.  Princess of Glass was a particularly creepy retelling that kept you guessing.  I didn't think this final book which was supposed to be a retelling of "Little Red Riding Hood" was very successful as a retelling.  It was a great ending to the series and story of the "Twelve Dancing Princesses" though.
