The Hen Who Dreamed She Could Fly, by Sun-mi Hwang, 144 pages
Sprout is an egg-laying hen who refuses to lay any more eggs that will simply be taken away from her. She longs to lay an egg and sit on it until it hatches. Life has a funny way of working sometimes. This short novel was surprisingly tender and may have made me a bit teary at the end.
