The day Cassie was born is better known as the day Old Lower Grange was flooded. The entire town was rebuilt right next to the lake created when the dam was built. Everyone is told to stay away from the west side of the lake as it is too dangerous. However, Cassie loves the peace and quiet there while swimming. Turns out her friend Liam also enjoys going to the banned lake. This summer there is a drought and the lake is receding. Now they are discovering secrets that someone wanted kept drowned.
I really enjoyed this book. It was kind of obvious what the secret below the lake was from the beginning of the book. However I thought the amount of time it took the kids to figure it out was realistic. A great mystery for children.
