Should I Share My Ice Cream?, by Mo Willems, 57 pagesYou know, someone referred to these books on Goodreads as "insipid." Probably the same sort of person who doesn't see the worth in Owly books (there aren't words!). I just feel the need to say that these books combine learning to read simple words with learning to read pictures and body language- and BOTH are valuable skills for young people. Along with the "lesson" of sharing- and because there isn't much in the way of background art or whatnot, these books are more about the story/reading than many other picture books. Simply put, I love these and I will defend them all day long.
