Love Overdue by Pamela Morsi

Love Overdue by Pamela Morsi - 427 pages
In Love Overdue the main character, Dorothy Jarrow, is a librarian who just landed a directorship in a rural Kansas farm town.  However, since her job offer was out-of-the-blue, is the need of a librarian the only reason?  One of the board members, Viv Sanderson, is meddling and bringing D.J. to Verdant is part of it.  Viv's son, Scott, is the town's sole pharmacist and the other person Viv is using in her meddling. Unbeknownst to Scott, her has met D.J. in the past, so D.J.'s reaction to him leads him to think she is standoffish.  What this leads to is a set of interesting reactions between the pair while D.J. also learns about the town, library, and wheat harvesting and implements changes to make the library more useful to the community.

I found the storyline to be both interesting and believable.  I also enjoyed how the relationship aspect was well-balanced by the many friendships also covered, the issues at the library, and typical farming community life.
