Before you start reading this book, visit www.bethfantaskey.com to read about Lucius and Antanasia's (aka Jessica) wedding. It will fill in so many blanks that you'll come across in this book. And you don't want to miss the storyline behind Mindy and Raniero.
Now married to Lucius, Antanasia's life is filled with life as an undead ruler. She must sit through trials and, if the party is guilty, executions as her husband metes out judgement. She is plagued by unsettling dreams that seem more like premonitions. When the dreams start to affect her life in the form of hallucinations, she is worried that she is going mad. Thankfully her very human and wonderful bestfriend, Mindy, is there to help her. Together with Mindy's vampire love interest, Raniero, Antanasia (Jessica) and her bestfriend begin to unravel an age old mystery. However, will they survive the discovery? And who, really, can they trust? I have to admit the mystery isn't too deeply buried. I pretty much had the book fully figured out before the end. However, it was still a fun read. Especially with the changing viewpoints from Raniero (Lucius's disgraced surfer cousin), Lucius, Jessica and Mindy. It made the read all the more fun.
