Book 1
Dawson is an ordinary guy with martial arts skills until his brother sold his soul to the devil. Dawson succeeds in fighting the demon to the death in order to free his brother from the contract. This gets Dawson involved with a loose organization of Champions that help people who have made deals with demons and are trying to break free. He thought he knew the rules for the breaking of bargains but someone or something has changed them and Champions are dropping at an alarming rate. Dawson is a snarky somewhat reluctant hero with a bad of equally snarky friends who tries to get to the bottom of things. The story takes place in Kansas City, MO so that makes for some fun Midwestern references throughout.
