Thomas of Hookton from Cornwell's Grail Quest series stars in this stand alone adventure during the Hundred Years War between England and France. Cornwell is one of the best at making history come to life by pulling you in to the lives of characters pulled into pivotal historical events. This book climaxes with the Battle of Poitiers which was a significant turning point in the war. Cornwell does battle scenes the best of any modern author that I've read and you learn history without even trying.
