Johnny and the Bomb by Terry Pratchett

Johnny and the Bomb by Terry Pratchett, 245 pages

This was the third book in the Johnny Maxwell Trilogy.  This was my favorite of the three.  My son picked this author for a school project after Suzanne Collins was already taken.  Suzanne Collins is the author of the Hunger Games series.  Terry Pratchett is classified as a science fiction author in the teen/juvenile section.  I like this series because unlike the Hunger Games trilogy, this series is made up of books you don't have to read in order.  It is just the characters that are the same.  In this book, Johnny and his friends stumble upon an old bag lady and her shopping cart.  I loved the fact that the bag lady's cart is a time machine and takes them back to 1941 England during WWII.  Johnny and his friends have to decide whether to change history and sound the siren warning the people of the air raid or let them parish.  A very good teen/juvenile read!
