One Last Strike: Fifty Years in Baseball, Ten and a Half Games Back, and One Final Championship Season by Tony LaRussa - 432 pages
This book chronicles the Cardinals amazing run in 2011 to the World Series Championship. There are a lot of looks back across LaRussa's career as well especially when he delves into the reasoning behind his managerial style and sometimes controversial decisions. It's an interesting "inside baseball" look at a season that became a legend. The only knock I have against the book is that the lengthy passages of essentially play by play of particular games can get a little boring. I had hoped for a little more behind the scenes revelations.
