This is the finale to Armstrong's thirteen book series featuring the women of the Otherworld. The majority of the story comes from the perspective of Savannah the young witch who has taken over the narrative in the past couple books. A war is brewing between those who want to expose the supernatural world to the light and tell humanity and those who fear the consequences of such a revelation so they want to stay secret. There are factions on both sides on both Earth and in heaven and hell. The werewolves, vampires and magic users we've come to know throughout the series all make an appearance in the action packed narrative. There is not a neat tied up in a bow conclusion so the reader is left wanting more but Armstrong did state that there will be followups in short story form in the future.
