Wayne of Gotham by Tracy Hickman - 302 pages
This novel shows us an aging Batman / Bruce Wayne who is forced to confront his idealized images of his parents and what the Wayne legacy really means. The action scenes read a little comic bookish but that's to be expected. Many of your favorite villains make an appearance as well. I liked this brooding Bruce Wayne who is portrayed as a real person with real issues, not as a comic book hero. Long suffering Alfred gets a backstory and needed depth too. As an added bonus the story ties up several loose strings in Batman lore so now the overall mythology seems a bit more logical.
