I Thee Wed by Amanda Quick

I Thee Wed by Amanda Quick - 341 pages

Emma Greyson is used to having to find new positions.  She's been let go of three companion jobs in the past six months.  She's even resorted to writing her own references.  So when she finds a dead body in her bedroom during a weekend estate party, she knows this time she'll have to do more than just forge a reference.  However, that is before Edison Stokes announces that she was with him the whole time and that they are engaged.  Now she's been hired by Edison to pose as his fiancee so he can discover who stole a book of secret formulas and find the killer.
This is the first book in a loosely based trilogy by Amanda Quick.  Unknowingly, I had actually read book three earlier.  I enjoyed this book.  The mystery aspect was a little obvious, the the repartee between the Emma and Edison was fun to read.
