Potter’s Field, by Mark Waid, 112 pages
When dead bodies can’t be identified in New York City , they’re given a number and buried in Potter’s Field. In this graphic novel, there is a mysterious figure, known only as John Doe, who wanders around the criminal underworld and uses a broad network of connections, in his attempt to find out what happened and to put names on the gravestones of the nameless. There’s some mild violence, the language is censored, and there are enough twists and turns to make this appealing to teens and adults. I think it was a good read and I could envision it making a good movie or tv show.
