This fourth installment in the Unwritten series is my favorite to date.  It features a romance between Tommy and Lizzie, someone finally figures out that Savoy's a vampire, a creepy puppet master, and Tommy's journey into the story of Moby Dick.  The best part is when Tommy finds himself inside the great whale along with all other literary characters who were swallowed by a whale in a story.  His mission, as told to him by Frankenstein (it makes just as little sense in the book), is to find 'the source', or the truth of all things-  which is about as confusing as deciphering the symbols in Moby Dick.

A bonus in this volume is another look at the rabbit known as Pauly Bruckner- thrown down the staircase in the last volume, here the reader finds out what happens in the staircase.

Tommy Taylor is finally becoming a more realized character in this third installment.  The trio of Tommy, Lizzie & Richie are back from their weird foray into Jud Suss and have discovered that a new Tommy Taylor book is being published.  Is it real- has Wilson Taylor come out of hiding?  Is Lizzie really from a book, or is she mentally ill?  And why does no one realize that Richie has totally been bitten by a vampire?

Tommy Taylor is in a French prison for the alleged murder of a writer's group at a Swiss mansion; his cellmate has some secrets of his own; and who is Lizzie Hexam, and why can't she tell Tommy what is going on?  This second volume starts dropping more hints about Tommy's powers, and his ultimate nemesis is introduced and explained in this volume, too.  I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

Imagine if JK Rowling had a son named Harry Potter.

This story features Tom Taylor, whose father wrote a series of wizarding books more popular than Harry Potter- featuring young Tommy Taylor.  Tom hates his notoriety, especially since his father mysteriously disappeared from his life.  But things get even worse when Tom is told that he might not actually be his father's son, cats might actually fly, and a madman murders a house full of writers with Tom framed for their deaths.  This is going to be an interesting series.
