This novel depicts a not-too future America: where the population is addicted to online shopping, there is no online privacy, youth is worshiped, vulgarity is the norm, and the country is on the verge of collapsing under a credit crisis and riots in the street by the disenfranchised poor. Oh, and an aging man named Lenny falls in love with a young woman named Eunice.
It is a fairly dense read, but pretty fascinating to see how realistic the author's grim predictions are. Not really a book for romantics.
