This book is sort of a story of Gabby's life thru poems.  Gabby the daydreamer becomes Gabby the writer.  What starts as an escape from her parents' arguments, takes on a new life with help from a new teacher.  This verse novel celebrates imagination, friendship, & spirit.

Poems to Learn by Heart by Caroline Kennedy

Poems to Learn by Heart by Caroline Kennedy - 192 pg.

I really enjoyed this book of poems.  So many, some short, some long.  Some are just sweet and simple but some are very thought provoking.   Glad to find two of my favorites - Charge of the Light Brigade, and  A Blessing.    Enjoy them all.

The Illustrated Emily Dickinson: 25 essential poems - edited by Ryan G. Van Cleave -64 pg.

Read them in order, out of order, it does not matter.  Enjoy these poems however you wish.
